[Class 39 (i)] A conducting coating for the envelope of a cathode-ray tube of the type in which the ray scans a photo-electric surface consisting of silver oxidized and then sensitized consists of a non-oxidizable metal, e.g. platinum deposited from a solution of platinum chloride in oil. The other electrodes in the tube, with the exception of the photo-electric surface, may be coated in the same way, or made of a non-oxidizable metal.
