Abstract
487,741. Igniting gas burners. JUNKERS & CO., GES. Oct. 4, 1937, No. 26825. Convention date, Oct. 3, 1936. [Class 75 (iii)] Flash-over tubes 29-34 are arranged between the pilot-jets 23-28 for the burners 11-16 of a gas stove and a jet 22 for heating a bimetallic bow 35 to open a safety valve 18 so that, on opening the main valve 17 and igniting the readily accessible jet 23, the jets 24-28, 22 are ignited successively. If any one of the jets becomes choked, the valve 18 will not be opened. In a gas baking oven, the pilot jet 43 for the burner 50, Fig. 3, may be ignited through a flash-over tube 44 from the pilot-jet 42 for the burner 49, the jet 22 being ignited through an opening 51 in the tube. Alternatively, the jet 22 may be ignited through a second flash-over tube from the jet 43. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement in which the jet 22 replaces the pilot-jet 43. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
