Abstract
487,108. Shelf edgings ; corrugating paper &c. DU-TONE RIBBON CORPORATION. Aug. 12, 1937, No. 22230. Convention date, July 15. [Class 141] Shelf edging comprises pleated paper provided with an upper retaining strip adhesively secured transversely across the ridges at the front, and a lower retaining strip adhesively secured across the ridges at the back. The retaining strips may lie in grooves formed in the ridges, and the material may comprise a non-fibrous cellulosic layer adhesively secured to the paper and ornamented on its inner side. A layer of paper 20, together with a cellulosic layer 21, retaining strips 28, 30, and an additional upper retaining strip 29 are passed between crimping rollers, the upper roller having a plain section 39 co-operating with a plain section 40 on the lower roller ; the ridges on the upper roller are cut away at 43 and mate with a plain section 41. By these means, the upper retaining strip 28 and strip 29 are secured to a flattened portion, and the lower strip 30 in a groove without deforming the ridges in front.
