Abstract
486,154. Sheet materials. BIRKBECK, H. (Canada Foils, Ltd.) March 2, 1937, No. 6200. [Class 140] [Also in Group XVII] A composite sheet material suitable for the manufacture of tobacco pouches comprises a layer 3 of imperforate metal foil having attached by adhesive to one face a laver 2 of paper and to the other a coating 4 of uncured indiarubber attached by its inherent tackiness under pressure either directly to the foil or to the surface of a second paper layer adhesively secured to the foil. The pouch shown, which comprises pocket and flap portions 6, 7, is formed by folding a blank and pressing the overlapping edges together, the mouth being temporarily sealed by light finger pressure.
