Abstract

485,880. Closures for bottles, flasks, &c. LOMAX, Ltd., S. C., LOMAX, S. C., and KNIGHTSON, H. Dec. 31, 1936, No. 35883. [Class 125 (iii)] A bottle, flask, or like container has a mouth 13 provided with a lip 14 extending unbroken round its edge. and this lip engages a pad 17 of resilient material such as rubber, felt or cork secured in the recess 18 of the closure member 15. A snap fastening 20, 21 holds the member 15 in its closed position, in which the pad 17 overlaps the lip 14 as shown in Fig. 2. In a modification a container with folded seams and with sprinkler apertures 23, Fig. 5, is employed. Each aperture is surrounded by a lip and the engaging pad 17 is held in the recess in the hinged cover 15 by tongues 24.
