Abstract
484,441. Insulators. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Aug. 25, 1937, No. 23333. Convention date, Nov. 20, 1936. [Class 36] An insulator for spacing and transposing the wires 10, 12 of a transmission line comprises a flat body 17 provided on its upper and lower faces respectively with raised portions 6, 8, the portions 6 forming an S-shaped guide for directing the wire 12 across the upper face of the body 17, and the portions 8 forming a similar guide for leading the wire 10 across the lower face of the body. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, which is for use at points where the transmission line is supported by poles, the insulator is formed with an internally screwthreaded boss 13 adapted to screw on a supporting pin carried by the pole. Fig. 2 shows a construction of insulator for use between poles.
