Abstract
Monoazo dyes for wool are made by coupling a diazo compound of an amine of the general formula <FORM:0483442/IV/1> wherein R=an aliphatic radicle containing at least two carbon atoms or an araliphatic or aromatic radicle and the aromatic as well as the hydroaromatic nucleus may contain further substituents, with N-acyl derivatives of H or K acid. They dye wool in reddish shades. In examples dyes from the following components are described: diazo components; the isobutyl-, benzyl-, phenyl- and n-butyl ethers; coupling components; N-(21 : 51-dimethyl - 41 - chlorbenzenesulpho) - H acid, N - (21 - chlorphenoxyacetyl) - H or K acid, N - benzenesulpho - or p - toluenesulpho)-H acid. Specifications 12679/98, 22886/99, [both in Class (1)], 313,110, 337,577, [both in Class 2 (iii)], and 364,609 are referred to. The 3 - aminohexahydrodiphenyl ethers are made from 1-hydroxybenzene derivatives containing in the 4-position a cyclohexyl nucleus by nitration, etherification and reduction.
