483,186. Milking-pails &c. LEA, F. J. April 10, 1937, No. 10253. Divided out of 481,169. [Class 66] A milking-pail, milk can, &c., is provided with a fixed or detachable domed top portion 21, which may be welded to or formed integral with the upper part of the vessel and is formed with a rim portion 44, and a movable closure part 36 pivotally mounted on lugs 38 detachably engageable with slotted brackets 22 attached to the sides of the vessel below the rim 24. A bail handle is pivotally attached by pins or bolts to lugs 26 upstanding from the brackets, spring friction washers being provided on the bolts and on the joints 37 so that the handle and the part 36 will retain any positions into which they are moved. In the case of a milk can an anti-splash rim, Fig. 4, formed with openings 42 from which milk measures can be suspended, may be hooked over the rim 44.
