Abstract

483,131. Strap &c. fastenings. KOUKAL, A. Sept. 15, 1937, No. 25085. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1936. [Class 44] A clasp for straps, belts, &c. comprises a rigid member 1 carrying a plate-spring 2 with projection 3, and a member 4 adapted to be inserted between members 1, 2 so that projection 3 engages a recess 6. Member 4 has an extension 8 which acts as a lever so that separation is effected by tilting member 4 as shown to separate members 1, 2 and disengage projection 3. A guide recess 5 is provided in member 4 to prevent lateral movement of member 1. Alternatively, both members 1, 2 may be rigid, articulated together, and closed together by a spring. When member 4 is made of relatively soft material it is provided with metallic reinforcement to resist wear. Holes 7 are provided for the attachment of the members to the strap &c. by stitching.
