Abstract

386,193. Sliding-clasp fastenings. JORDAN, K. R., Ludenscheid, Westphalia, Germany. April 29, 1932, No. 12408. Convention date, Feb. 6. [Class 44.] A lock d, preferably of the kind employed for leather bags or cases and the like, is fixed to one stringer of a sliding-clasp fastening immediately adjacent to the interlocking fastening members thereon at the end of which the slider e is located when the fastening is in the closed position and a locking member b is fixed to the other stringer so as to engage the mouth or opening of the lock d. The members b, d may be mounted on supporting strips a, c, fixed to the stringers and the ends f of which may be tapered towards the interlocking members of the fastening so that the slider e can slide on the supporting strips thereby drawing the supporting members towards one another and guiding the locking member forcibly into the lock. The supporting strip c may be provided with a lug g which engages an opening or recess h in the other strip a so that the member b is brought into correct position with respect to the mouth or opening of the lock d. The lock d may be rigidly fixed to the strip c or pivoted thereto.
