Abstract
481,023. Sliding - window holders. WILMOT-BREEDEN, Ltd., and GAME, C. Sept. 1, 1936, No. 23907. [Class 44] [Also in Group X] Means for holding sliding - windows for vehicles comprise an arm or arms a pivoted at one end to a fixed support b and at the other end to a plate c with studs d adapted to bear against the lower edge of the window (not shown) under the action of a spring or springs, to counterbalance the weight of the window, holding means being provided to act on and oppose movement of the arm. The springs f may be of coil form acting on one or more of the pivots h as shown, or a helical spring may be used anchored at one end to a fixed support and at the other to an arm. As shown in Figs. 1, 2, the holding device is a spring washer j giving frictional resistance to movement. In an alternative, a spring-pressed catch engages a toothed sector integral with or secured to the upper end of an arm. A further form is described in which the catch may be released by a finger-piece. Specification 436,525, [Group X], is referred to.
