[Class 44.] A holder for sliding sashes which are balanced by levers and an adjustable spring K acting thereon through a compensating cam comprises spring- pressed pads Q on a lever R carried by springs S. The lever R is withdrawn to free the window by a pin T and a cam plate N<1> rotated by friction discs M from the lever A.
