[Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii)] A beam section for use as a drainage plate for the edges of balconies and the like, comprises a channel section-bar 2 with an auxiliary flange 3 on its outer face disposed at an angle of less than 90‹ to the web. The under surface of the auxiliary flange is provided with a non- creep channel 4. The beam is attached to the building by reinforced concrete 5, 7 and the balcony floor is covered with bituminous material 9 the edge of which terminates just beyond a shoulder 4a disposed on the beam at the junction of the auxiliary flange with the web.
