[Class 36] A conduit comprises troughing 10, Figs. 1 and 2, closed by detachable cover-plates 14 which are attached by screws 18 to readily removable bridge pieces 13 extending across the troughing. The bridge pieces may be formed with reduced end portions 15 adapted to fit into slots 12 in the side walls of the troughing the bridge pieces being introduced into and removed from the troughing by springing the side walls apart. In a modified construction the end portions of the bridge pieces are cranked to provide shoulders against which the side walls of the troughing may bear. Alternatively, the bridge pieces may consist of flat strips of uniform width, the ends of the strips engaging in depressions formed in the side walls of the troughing. Fig. 5 shows a construction wherein the side walls of the troughing are cut and bent to form projections 23 adapted for co-operation with a bridge piece 24 of the form shown. In another construction the bridge pieces 26, Fig. 7, are hinged at one end to one side wall of the troughing and the other end engages a slot 28 in the opposite wall.
