[Class 29] Absorption machines and systems. -A continuous-cycle machine is provided with a compartmented inert gas heat-exchanger F between the absorber A and the evaporator E, alternate compartments being connected in series to provide two independent paths for the gas. The compartments may be formed by nested trays 6, Fig. 2, each having two flanged apertures G4, G<5>, Fig. 3. The flanges of the apertures of adjacent trays, which are displaced angularly relatively to one another to form helical paths for the gas, are connected by rubber tubes J. The circulation of the gas is effected by a fan L driven by a motor L<1>.
