Abstract
475,683. Boring diamonds. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. (Patent-Treuhand- Ges. fur Elektrische Gl³hlampen) Aug. 25, 1936, No. 23329. [Class 124] Recesses or holes are cut in diamonds by a jet of oxidizing gas, the diamond being surrounded by an atmosphere of reducing gas. The diamond is mounted at the upper end of a pipe from which heated hydrogen is passing, and a jet of oxygen under pressure is directed on to it.
