Abstract
474,522. Valve generating circuits. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. June 16, 1937, No. 16772. Convention date, June 16, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] The frequency of a valve oscillator is rendered independent of temperature changes by means of a temperature-dependent impedance in the valve anode circuit which reflects a variable capacity effect into the circuit of the grid or grids and so balances variations caused by changes in the temperature of the reactance elements of the oscillatory circuit. The anode impedance may be a resistance with a negative temperaturecoefficient such as uranium dioxide, copper oxide, carbon, or dilute acids, or with a positive temperature - coefficient such as an ironhydrogen resistance. The temperature-impedance characteristic may be regulatable, e.g. by using a combination of several impedances with different characteristics and tapping variable portions of them into circuit. The Figure shows a suitable circuit employing a two-grid valve 1 with coupled tuned circuits 6, 7 and 8, 9 associated with its outer and inner grids 4, 3 and with its anode 2 connected to a load 12 through the temperature-dependent impedances 14, 15. Regulation is effected by adjusting the impedance 15.
