Abstract
473,724. Mountings for dynamoelectric machines. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 24, 1936, No. 23219. Convention date, Aug. 24, 1935. Addition to 442,904. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXIV] In the mounting for a dynamo-electric machine claimed in the parent Specification, means for adjusting the no-load position of the motor with respect to the base comprise a torsion spring rod 30 secured at one end with limited pivotal movement to the stator 10 and secured at the other end to the base 28 by a swinging connection 40 for adjusting the torsion in the rod. In the form shown, the stator 10 of the motor is mounted on eccentric pivots 18, 19 supported by rubber bushes on upturned arms 26, 27 of the base 28. The rod 30 carries arms 32, 40, the arm 32 loosely engaging a pin 33 on a bracket 35 secured to the stator 10 by screws 36, while the arm 40 is connected by a pin 41 to the fixed upright 27. When the pin 41 passes through a hole 42 in the arm and a hole 42a in the upright as shown in Fig. 1, the motor is held vertical, but if the pin 41 connects the hole 43, Fig. 2, to one of the holes 44, 45 in the upright, an initial bias is given to the motor.
