Abstract

473,144. Dust collectors. DAWSON, W., and JACKSON, A. April 6, 1936, No. 10136. [Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Group X] Unit apparatus for removing dust from, and otherwise conditioning air comprises a casing 1 in which is mounted a fan 11 for drawing air through an opening 3 and blowing it past a baffle plate 5 over absorbent material 14 in a drawer 12 impregnated with oil or the like by which dust is removed. The absorbent material may be in layers, the top one of which may be stripped off when fully loaded with dust. The motor 9 may be reversed, in which case, the air issues from the opening 3. In a modification, the apparatus is arranged to be suspended from the ceiling or may be mounted on a pedestal, an air spreader being provided.
