Abstract
472,505. Magnetos. WHITE, W. A., and WHITING, W. R. G. June 12, 1936, No. 16471. [Class 35] A generator field magnet comprises a plurality of radially extending permanent magnets disposed about a rotary armature. In the form shown, the magnets 2 extend from polepieces 2a, to the yoke A, their outer ends projecting into perforations in a non-magnetic retaining plate 2b, while clamping plates 2d may also be provided at the inner ends of the magnets. A further set of magnets 3 is similarly supported on the opposite side of the machine. For increasing the excitation at higher outputs auxiliary field coils B may be provided.
