Abstract

471,925. Vacuum cleaners. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. (Lofgren, G. E.) March 13, 1936, No. 7642. [Class 8 (i)] In a vacuum cleaner the dust collector and motor fan unit are arranged horizontally in a casing comprising a flat or substantially flat base 18 carrying sledge runners 15 and a curved or arched upper portion 19. The runners may extend the whole length of the casing or be provided at certain parts and may comprise ribs 21 pressed out of the casing. Alternatively, the runners may comprise U-shaped members attached by screws to the casing. The end cover 11 is inclined to the vertical and hinged to the base 18. The cross-section of the casing may decrease in size along the length of the casing.
