Abstract

471,851. Racket stringers. WILSON, C. P. April 19, 1937, No. 11145. Convention date, April 21, 1936. [Class 132 (ii)] A racket stringer comprises a frame or gallows 3 adapted to be placed on the racket frame 1, and a yoke 4 slidably mounted on the frame 3 and attached to or integral with a bolt 5 which passes through the cross beam of the frame 3, and carries a compression spring 8 and winged nut 6. Means provided on the yoke 4 for gripping the string 2 may consist of a winged nut and bolt, a device comprising two rotatable jaws, Fig. 3, or a single rotatable jaw bearing against a fixed abutment. An adjustable stop 9 co-operating with a projection 10 on the winged nut 6 serves to limit the amount of tension given to the string.
