470,110. Bushextractors; assembling force fits. PANKHURST, V. H. HAYES-. March 7, 1936, No. 6890. [Class 61 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] A device for extracting or inserting rubber bushes from the spring shackles of motor cars &c. consisting of inner and outer metal sleeves a, b separated by rubber p, comprises a bolt d, washer j, abutment tube h to bear against the wall of the housing c and cylindrical nut e with conical head f and shoulder g whereby the inner sleeve a is moved relatively to the outer sleeve b so that the latter is properly seated on the shoulder g, the extraction being effected by rotating the nut k. For inserting a new bush the parts are arranged as shown in Fig. 2, the recesses o in the washer j and n in the nut e accommodating the longer inner sleeve a.
