Abstract
470,053. Knitting-machines. KNITTING MACHINES CORPORATION. Oct. 14, 1936, No. 27901. Convention date, Nov. 9, 1935. [Class 74 (ii)] Fabric take-up devices.-The take-up rolls 10 of a flat knitting-machine are made much larger than usual, from 3 to 6 inches diameter, and are driven by a weighted band 28 acting on a pulley 18 of smaller diameter than the rolls. The welt wires 42 are grooved at each end 60 to engage the snap hooks 40 of the elements 46 which connect the ends of the fabrics to be knitted with the take-up rolls. These elements are springs or rubber tubes which are resilient throughout the whole of their length, but the extension is limited by internal chains &c. 52. The elements 46 are accommodated in grooves 38 in the rolls 10. Specification 456,145 is referred to'.
