469,910. Sheet delivery apparatus. LINOTYPE & MACHINERY, Ltd., STERN, C. L., and SPENCE, F. Feb. 6, 1936, No. 3700. [Class 100 (i)] Sheet-delivery mechanism for a printing- machine a comprises tapes or the like upon which the sheets are advanced intermittently, and means separate from the devices whereby the sheets are advanced, for locating a sheet in a predetermined position when it is advanced. As applied to apparatus of the kind in which delivery is effected by a reciprocating tape-carriage h which accommodates a number of sheets received successively and advances them in stages during the outward movements of the carriage, pivoted registering-fingers or stops o mounted on stationary brackets r are provided and are operated by a cam and links t, u so as to come into operation before the completion of each inward stroke of the carriage h. The stops o prevent the sheets passing beyond their normal positions of rest due to overrunning of the tapes. Grippers m mounted on the carriage h co-operate with the tapes c of the carriage to advance the sheets during the outward movement of the carriage. The stops o may be incorporated in apparatus as described in Specification 449,553, in which, in addition to the grippers m, sheet-registering fingers mounted on the carriage are provided.
