469,111. Electron multipliers. WILLIAMS, W. E. Jan. 18, 1936, No. 1666. [Class 39 (i)] In an electron multiplier of the type in which the electrons strike a series of surfaces, or a series of different parts of the same surface, the first impact takes place on a surface having a higher secondary electron emission rate than the succeeding surfaces. The surface may be separate plates, separate parts of the same plate, or wire grids, and the first surface may be silver coated with caesium and the remainder pure silver.
