Abstract

467,940. Systems of lighting for road vehicles. GOMORY, A. B. April 16, 1936, No. 11003. [Class 75 (iv)] In a system of lighting for road vehicles, a light projector 2, arranged so that its source of light 1 is not normally visible, projects an upwardly inclined beam on to a reflecting surface 5 which re-directs it in any desired direction from a substantially horizontal direction to a downward direction on to the road. The reflecting surface 5 may be plane, convex, or otherwise curved, it may be turned about a substantially vertical axis by means of the steering mechanism, and it may be tilted about horizontal axes as by means of a lever 7 and a rod 8 controllable from the driver's seat. The projector 2 may be recessed into a mudguard 4, or the projector and reflecting surface may be located in a common housing.
