Abstract

467,544. Electrolytic sterilizing- apparatus ; batteries. LAKHOVSKY, G. Nov. 13, 1936, Nos. 31060 and 31061. Convention dates, Dec. 5, 1935 and Oct. 19, 1936. [Classes 41 and 53] Electrolytic sterilizing apparatus comprises a wet battery the positive (copper) element 11 of which encloses the negative (zinc) element 12 and the electrolyte 16 (slightly salted or acidulated water), and two electrodes 18 and 20, 18 being of silver or other metal capable of exerting a bactericidal action and 20 of rustless steel. The electrodes may be inserted into a bottle to sterilize the contents thereof, an insulating sleeve 22 surrounding the extension 19 of the cup 11 fitting into the bottle neck. The apparatus may be carried about in a double-walled container between the two walls of which electrolyte is stored. The elements 11, 12, may be spherical in shape, the inner element being hollow or solid, or the element 11 may be a broad shallow disc and the element 12 a flat apertured plate.
