Abstract
467,019. Electrodeposition of metal. SEABROOK, H. (Oeserwerk E. Oeser & Sohne Komm.-Ges.) Jan. 23, 1937, No. 2090. [Class 41] In a process for the manufacture of metal foil by electrodeposition on a metal band from which the foil is afterwards removed, the cathode band d is passed over a cell b at a height somewhat above the rim. Electrolyte is forced into the cell from pipes h having perforations arranged to project a stream against the direction of movement of the band at such a rate as to maintain contact with the under side of the band while flowing over the rim. The electrolyte collects in an outer vessel a from which it is withdrawn by the pump supplying the pipes h. The width of the inner container should be somewhat less than that of the band in order to prevent creeping of electrolyte over the edge of the band.
