Abstract

465,489. Horticultural frames. FARNELL, S. Nov. 9, 1935, No. 31019. [Class 20 (i)] A greenhouse, garden frame, or the like has the roof-lights formed as independent units and removably attached to the ridge-bar so that each light may be raised to provide ventilation. The framework comprises a ridge 5 with cover bar 8 and inclined T-section frame bars 4 supported at their lower ends by gutters 6 carried by upright framing 16, 17. The rooflight frames 1a are provided with recesses 13 at their upper ends which are adapted to be engaged by the ends 10a of levers 10 pivoted to the ridge-bar, these recesses being sufficiently large to enable each light to be raised independently about its upper edge. Weather strips 9 attached to the ridge-bar have bevelled under-surfaces to allow the roof frames to be tilted, and removable wedges are placed between the weather strip and the inclined frame members. The outer ends of the roof-frames may be pushed upwardly by removable link gears 22, 26, Fig. 12, supported by the longitudinal frame-bar 21, and each adapted to be clamped at 30 to a longitudinally disposed actuating bar 33. Looking devices for the lower end of the roof frames may be provided.
