Abstract
A soft solder comprises 75-90 per cent of lead, 5-24,5 per cent of tin, 0,5-5 per cent of bismuth, and up to 3 per cent of cadmium, or, when suitable for use as a coating or filling material, 75-95 per cent of lead, 0,5-24 per cent of tin, 1-5 per cent of antimony, 0,5-5 per cent of bismuth, and up to 3 per cent of cadmium. The solder may be made by mixing 2 parts of lead with 1 part of an alloy of 62,5 per cent of lead, 30 per cent of tin, 6 per cent of bismuth, and 1,5 per cent of cadmium.
