Abstract
464,713. Cylinder paper making machines &c. RUBEROID CO., Ltd., and PROUDLOCK, S. Feb. 18, 1936, No. 4918. [Class 96] In a cylinder board or paper making machine, or a concentrator &c., a rise or fall in the level of pulp in the vat 1 is used to increase or reduce, respectively, the rate of removal of white water from within the cylinder mould. The vat level may be maintained substantially constant by a weir 2 from which pulp flows to a float chamber 3. The control may be applied to removal of surplus white water, or also to that returned to the mixing box. In addition, variations in the level in the mould may be used to control outlet side of the pump supplying the mixing box. The float 12 may work between resilient, adjustable stops 26, 27 and actuate a valve 18 through a lever 16 which may be adjustably counterbalanced at 22. Alternatively a servomotor, relay, or telemotor may be used. The level within the mould may be indicated at 31.
