463,068. Plaster bandages. HAIGHTON, C. A. A. Sept. 21, 1935, No. 26219. Convention date, Sept. 22, 1934. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] A plaster of Paris bandage or dressing is applied upon a strip c of material resistant to cutting and having a series of spikes d which penetrate the plaster when applied and so form a guide for the knife when the bandage is to be cut through for removal. The spiked strip may have one or two rows of spikes arranged centrally or to one side and secured to the strip or punched out of it. The strip may be of metal gauze g, Fig. 13, and the pins may be mounted on clips h through which the strip passes. In the form shown in Figs. 20 and 21, an auxiliary wire or thread connects the clips. According to other forms, a pin k, Fig. 24, may be mounted on an eccentric shank l, duplex pins k, n, Fig. 25, may be used and the points s, Fig. 30, of the pins may be themselves detachable or they may be provided with detachable protecting covers.
