Abstract

460,195. PortiÞre rods. CLAY, A., and WICKER, J. C. July 20, 1935, No. 20680. [Class 52 (v)] A portiÞre rod comprises two slotted portions 3, 4, the portion 3 carrying a portion of the curtain which conceals the architrave of the door. A member 5 is placed inside the portion 3 and is held in place by means of a member 6 placed outside the slot opposite the member 5 and provided with holes through which pass screws 10 which pass through the slot and screw into the member 5 so that the edges of the slot can be gripped by the members 5, 6. The member 6 is provided with lugs through which passes a pivot 8 on an arm 9 secured to the architrave. The member 5 is pivoted to a member 12 about a vertical pivot pin 11 and the member 12 to a member 14, clamped to the portion 4, by means of a horizontal pivot pin 13. The portion 4 can thus pivot about a vertical and a horizontal axis.
