Abstract
Filaments, threads, bands, and the like are spun from viscose by the centrifugal process and there is applied to the inside surface of the cake after the formation of the cake has finished, but before the thread is completely set and before the usual reeling, washing, bleaching, dyeing, and drying operations, a force in an outward radial direction, and this force is maintained until the thread is practically completely set. The force may be applied, for example, by continuing the high speed rotation of the box, during which time liquid or finely divided solid may be introduced into the box, or by pressing an annular surface against the inside of the cake.
