457,201. Heating-apparatus; refrigerators. FARRER, J. 0., 27, Chancery Lane, London, and KOCH, E. A. J., 64, Victoria Street, Westminster. May 20, 1935, No. 14717. [Classes 29 and 64 (ii)] [See also Group V] Apparatus for heat treating or refrigerating purposes comprises a container for the material to be treated, heating or cooling elements located about the container wall, a fan for circulating air or other gas past the heaters &c. and through the container by way of apertures in the wall thereof, and means constraining the air &c., after leaving the container, to pass over the heating elements to the end thereof remote from the fan and back to the fan. Heating &c. elements 5, Figs. 1 and 2, consisting of pipes through which is circulated hot water or a refrigerant, are housed in the space between a container 1 and a jacket 3. The space is divided into two compartments 18 19 by a rib 17 and a conduit 15. A fan 8 forces air through a passage 16, around the compartment 19, through a slot 20 or series of slots into and across the container 1, through an aperture 21, around and along the compartment 18 to the open end 15a of the conduit 15, and along conduit 15 and passage 11 to the fan.
