456,932. Gas cooking-ovens. SOUTH METROPOLITAN GAS CO., and TEMPLEMAN, C. J., 709, Old Kent Road, London. Sept. 13, 1935, No. 25492. [Class 126] A gas oven comprises an outer casing of moulded material, such as a mixture of asbestos and hydraulic cement, capable of withstanding the temperature, and having internal ribs 11 moulded on it which form, together with the outer surface of the cooking chamber 9, which it encloses, flues through which the gases pass around the chamber. In the form shown, the ribs are horizontal, and the gases after passing around them leave by a central inclined outlet flue 13 formed in the top of the casing. The casing is double-walled, the interspace being divided by ribs 16 into passages 17,18 which communicate at their upper ends. Air passes up the passages 17 and down the passages 18, from 'which it is delivered in a heated state to the combustion space beneath the cooking chamber. The passage between the two ribs 16 at the rear may also form an air uptake passage or, as shown, it may be blanked off by a wall 20 to form a pocket for a thermostat.
