Abstract
456,907. Cleaning beer pipes &c. PARKINSON, D. E., 16, Osborne Road, and SKINNER, L. R., 30, Folds Lane, both in Sheffield. May 22, 1935, No. 14985. [Class 99 (ii)] A fitting for use in cleaning beer &c. pipes and pumps by the passage therethrough of water and air or a cleansing fluid comprises a body a having coaxial inlet and outlet ends b, c, for connection to a water supply and to the pipe to be cleaned respectively, and an intermediate mixing chamber d, provided with an inlet e for the admission of the air or cleansing fluid. The inlet b is fitted with a removable mozzle f, which terminates in the mixing chamber d and is provided with an inwardly tapering bore h, and the outlet c with a nozzle j, also with a tapering bore k. The inlet m of the outlet nozzle j is located in the mixing chamber and, as shown, is splayed outwardly to a diameter slightly larger than the discharge of the inlet nozzle f. In a modification, for use with pipes of larger diameter, a plurality of nozzles 15, 16, 17, arranged at different inclinations to the axis of the fitting 2, are removably mounted in the inlet 3 of the fitting to coact with like nozzles 19, 20, 21 in the outlet 4.
