Abstract

456,459. Boat hulls. PAINE, H. SCOTT-, c/o British Power Boat Co., Hythe, Southampton. June 20, 1935, No. 17747. [Class 113 (i)] In building wooden boat hulls, the main transverse frames comprising the bottom members 16, the side members 15 and optionally a top member 35, are assembled in jigs 10 and are connected by the gusset pieces 18. The frames in an inverted position are assembled in their correct relative positions in a second jig 21, Fig. 2, and the main longitudinals comprising chines 24, keel 23, gunwales 25 are secured in place. Subordinate parts of the hull such as the transom, deck, cabin tops are constructed independently and are subsequently secured to the hull-structure.
