Abstract

455,876. Ring twisting - apparatus. BRITISH CELANESE, Ltd., 22, Hanover Square, London. Sept. 11, 1935, No. 25245. Convention date, Sept. 14, 1934. [Class 120 (ii)] In ring twisting- apparatus a slit 4 is provided in the ring into which rotating yarn is guided, as by a lip 4, so that it automatically engages a drag ring 9, Fig. 7, or is led by a spring wire 14, Fig. 4, arranged in a groove 12 around the ring until it automatically engages the traveller and is free from the wire 14 when it emerges at 16. The traveller comprises arms 17, 18 which engage the track and a yarn-engaging eye 19. The flange of the bobbin is provided with a notch 20 and, in operation, the yarn is thrown so that it is engaged thereby and pulled into contact with the lip and through the slit. The invention is particularly applicable to the twisting of artificial yarns continuously with their production.
