454,812. Photographic cameras combined with exposure meters. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES., 72, Schandauer Strasse, Dresden, Germany. Sept. 5, 1935 No. 24798. Convention date, Sept. 5, 1934. [Class 98 (i)] A photo-electric exposure meter with an adjustable resistance is provided on a camera having a slit shutter, and is coupled to the shutter adjusting-member through toothed wheels, so that adjustment of the shutter varies the effective value of the resistance. As shown, the photo-electric cell 7 is mounted on the camera front, and in its circuit are a resistance 5 carried by the objective mount 2 and coupled to the diaphragm adjusting- device 4 so as to rotate therewith, and a sliding contact 6 bearing on the resistance 5 and carried by a sleeve on the objective mount 2 rotatable through toothed-wheel gearing 15 .. 18 from the adjusting knob 13 of the slit shutter 14. The devices 4 and 13 are adjusted to vary the effective resistance 4 until the pointer 12 of the measuring instrument of the cell 7 coincides with a mark 11 on a scale 10. Exchangeable objectives in screw-focusing mounts, each carrying its appropriate resistance 4, may be provided, and may be secured to the front as by a bayonet fitting. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also a prism plate 8 in front of the photo-electric cell. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 439,918.
