Abstract

453,168. Plug-and-socket couplings. CARR FASTENER CO., Ltd., Nottingham Road, Stapleford, Nottingham, and OLIVER, C. W., 79, Ulleswater Road, Southgate, London. March 13, 1935, No. 7808. [Class 38 (i)] A coupling arrangement suitable for enabling an auxiliary loudspeaker or headphones, or a pick-up to be plugged into a wireless receiver comprises a pair of sockets 2, 3, to one of which is attached a conductive strip 4 bent over the end of the socket and normally engaging an independently supported contact strip 6. A plug connected with a loudspeaker (or head-phones) may be partially or fully inserted so as to put the speaker in parallel with, or in place of the loud-speaker e wired to the socket 3 and the strip 6. Alternatively, the plug may be wired to a pick-up to enable this to be substituted for the receiving circuit.
