Abstract
451,367. Cycle stands. STEELWAY, Ltd., and GOODYEAR, C. W., Queensgate Works, Monmore Green, Wolverhampton. March 14, 1935, No. 7911. [Class 136 (i)] A foldable rack or stand for supporting a number of bicycles comprises a main rectangular frame a, a<1>, a<2> provided with pairs of members a3 for receiving the front wheels, and adapted to be supported in an inclined position on the ground by rear struts B, which are transversely connected at points intermediate of their height by a bar D provided with upwardlyextending members e (e.g. in pairs) joined at their upper ends to the main frame. The ends of the bar D are pivoted to the struts B, and the upper parts of the members e are outwardly cranked for pivotal attachment to the outsides of the members a<2>, a<3>. The upper ends of the struts B are pivoted to the side members a<2> by means of open-ended slots engaging studs provided with wing-nuts c, so that the struts may be detached and folded (after other wing-nuts d<1> have been loosened) against the members e, when the members B, D, e may be folded against the back of the main frame a, a<1>, a<2>. Alternate pairs of members a<3> are provided with transverse connecting-bars a<4>, so that the front wheels of alternate bicycles are raised to afford clearance for the handle-bars.
