Abstract

In the preparation of acid wool dyestuffs, in substance, derived from naphthalic anhydride or its derivatives and ammonia, hydrazines or aromatic or hydroaromatic amines according to the processes of Specifications 299,721, 309,552, 312,175, [all in Class 2 (iii)], 352,139 and 354,818, aminosalicylic acid is used as the second component and the resulting dyestuffs are treated with chromium yielding agents. In examples: (1) the dyestuffs derived from sulpho-4-aminonaphthalic anhydride and 1-amino-2-hydroxy-3-carboxy-5-chlor or sulpho benzene are treated with chromium formate; (2) the dyestuffs derived from sulpho-4-amino-naphthalic anhydride and 1-amino-2-hydroxy-3-carboxybenzene or 1-amino-2-hydroxy-3-carboxy-5-acetylaminobenzene are treated with chromium fluoride. The use of chromium acetate and chloride and the dyestuff derived from 4-aminonaphthalicanhydride and 1-amino-2 - hydroxy - 3 - carboxy - 5 - sulpho benzene is mentioned.
