Abstract
450,235. Sifting-apparatus. GESNEL, A. P., and GESNEL, C. A., 143, Avenue du President Wilson, Paris. Oct. 8, 1934, No. 28804. [Class 117] In sifting-apparatus of the kind in which the material is thrown against a screen t, Fig. 3, of cylindrical or similar shape by a rotary spreader T, the spreader is mounted directly on the shaft of the motor 1 so as to form a unit therewith. Preferably the screen is vertical and the motor is positioned above it or below in the discharge passage for the material rejected by the screen. In the apparatus described, the casing is made of sheet metal in two parts, one consisting of the discharge passages 3, 24 and the other consisting of a lid 27 carrying the feed hopper 2 and bolted to the first part by swing bolts 28. The screen is secured by split rings 4 to two end rings 30 which are separated longitudinally by screw bolts for tensioning the screen. The motor unit is carried by a plate 19 which rests on supports with resilient cushions 21 carried by the casing and is positioned by pins 20 which engage holes in the plate. The machine may be adapted to take two or more superposed screens, by substituting for the lid 27 one or more elements as shown in Fig. 18 comprising inner and outer casing elements 55, 59 and duplicating the sifting and spreading units.
