Abstract
449,434. Lenses. GRAMATZKI, H. I., 30. Lahnstrasse, Neukolln, Berlin. Nov. 4, 1935, No. 30442. [Class 97 (i)] A variable-magnification attachment for a photographic objective consists of a system of three lenses of which the outer ones are fixed and the inner one is axially movable, the system forming, in one extreme position of the movable lens, a Galilean telescope system, and, in the other extreme position of the movable lens, a reversed Galilean system. The principle of the invention is illustrated in Figs. 3 and 4 in which L1, L3 are fixed negative lenses and L2 is a movable positive lens which, in its position in Fig. 3, combines with the lens L1 to form the front positive member of a Galilean system, and, in its position in Fig. 4, forms with the lens L3 the rear positive member of a reversed Galilean system. Fig. 9 shows a construction according to the invention in which the outer lenses, of meniscus form, are fixed in a tube A and the movable lens is mounted in a slidable ring B which can be adjusted by an external ring C connected to the ring B by screws D passing through slots E in the tube A. Data are given for the system shown in Fig. 9.
