448,612. Cylindrical journal bearings. HOOVER, Ltd., Perivale, Greenford, .Middlesex.-(Hoover Co. ; North Canton, Ohio, U.S.A.) Jan. 10, 1936, No. 900. [Class 12 (i)] Oil-retaining material interposed between a bearing sleeve 14 and a housing 9, 10 extends beyond one end of the former so that leakage oil is caught by a cup member 21 fixed to the shaft and is thrown on to the extending part 19 of the oil-retaining material. The bush 14, which may be of porous metal, is held between, and has spherical engagement with, the upper part 9 of the housing and a perforated plate 11.
