Abstract
448,235. Rotary pumps. HOUTTUIN, C., 154, Keulschekade, Utrecht, Holland. Jan. 31, 1936, No. 3008. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1935. [Class 110 (ii)] In a rotary pump for liquids, of the meshing screw or gear - wheel types, provision is made to allow liquid to leak back from the high pressure side into the pumping chambers, so that a chamber under suction pressure is not suddenly opened to the delivery side of the pump. The clearances between the rotary elements 9 and the casing may be gradually increased towards the delivery chamber 16, by cutting away the casing or the periphery of the rotor. In the case of a gear wheel pump the clearances are also gradually increased towards the delivery side. The invention is also applicable to internally-meshing gear pumps.
