Abstract
447,529. Locks. CLAYTON, C. E. EVERY-, 51, Chancery Lane, London.- (Segal Lock & Hardware Co., Inc.; 261, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.) Sept. 9, 1935, No. 25085. [Class 44] A lock comprises a bolt 27 provided with a slot 30 to receive a bar 29 on the keeper 28, and a secondary bolt 31 which can be projected across the slot 30. The bolt 27 is operated by a handle 17 and crank 23 pivoted to a lever 24 pivoted at 35 on the bolt. It can also be operated by a key through a tailpiece 21 and a second crank 23 engaging the lever 24. An auxiliary bolt 42 mounted on the bolt 27 may be provided to engage behind a projection 45 on the casing 15 and is actuated by a lever 38 pivoted at 39 on the bolt 27 and operated by a cam slot 39<1> on the lever 24 engaging a pin 40 on the lever 38. The lock may be provided with a door chain 46, having a head 47 sliding in a slot 48 on the lock casing. The head may be ejected from the slot by a pin 50 operated by the lock key through a lever 53 provided with a lug 56 engageable by the key operated crank 23 after the key has been turned beyond the bolt-operating position.
