446,974. Bicycle stands. HANSFORD, A. F.. 37. High Street, Fareham, Hampshire. Nov. 8, 1934, No. 32112. [Class 136 (i)] A stand of the pillar type for supporting a bicycle from the floor, e.g. for display purposes, comprises a pedestal 1, 2, 3 provided at its upper end with a forked member or stirrup 6 having tapped &c. holes to receive adjustable screw &c. studs 7, which are adapted to engage the apertures in the ends of the crank axle and to be locked therein, e.g. by nuts 8, the bicycle being held at any required inclination by means of an arm 12 pivoted at 11 and formed with a series of spaced holes 13 to receive a pin adapted to engage the top or bottom of the chain stays. The tube 3 is slidably and rotatably adjustable in the tube 2, as by means of a collar 5 adjustably clamped to the tube 3 and resting on the upper end of the tube 2 ; or the upper end of the tube 2 may be split and the tube 3 damped therein.
